Birthing Center

Callaway Community Hospital's birthing center provides comprehensive, family-centered services including labor, delivery, postpartum and newborn care. Over 120 babies are delivered at Callaway Community Hospital each year. The competent and caring nursing staff of the birthing center strive to honor every family’s individual birth plan within a private, home-like environment.

The birthing suites provide private rooms for the labor, delivery and recovery including a whirlpool to help with relaxation. They also provide care to women who are hospitalized before delivery due to complications. The unit was designed to enhance privacy and family involvement at all stages of the birthing process. Members of the nursing staff provide one-on-one teaching and antepartum support.

Care after birth is provided in private rooms where we encourage family participation in the care of the newborn. Though most babies room with their mothers, the nursery staff offer skilled care and a tender touch when needed.

Lactation specialists provide support, education and consultation to breastfeeding mothers. Callaway Community Hospital offers breastfeeding assistance for mothers in need.

Tours of the facility are available upon request.
